I used to joke about my ability to wallpaper my bathroom with rejection letters. Now it’s my entire HOUSE. But that’s ugly wallpaper, so I won’t go that far, of course.
This article is about why people — in this case, writers — will torture themselves with rejection letters, or worse — not write at all for fear of receiving more. Or receiving just one, if fear of the ‘no’ keeps people from trying writing in the first place. Or of trying anything. Today’s Konundrum is, then the question of why. in writing or ANY task a person undertakes which is important to them, sometimes people are stopped cold by the NO fear, or pushed forward further by it?
