An Old Wife Telling Tales
I had never even heard this broomstick story when I found this article, but it sure made me giggle when I did!

And I have heard many tales about eggs that my husband does experiments with in his physics classroom, but I don’t know if the one about its ability to stand up all by itself ever even crossed my mind. And I am a curious person (I think!?!), but it makes sense to me that the weight of an uncooked and untethers yolk could sit on the bottom and hold the egg in the position I gave it.
So I’m feeling all smart and self-righteous in my head — old wives tales…? Fun chatter at parties, but who believes them, really?

No less than seven or eight of these are myths I’ve subscribed to, even if only fleetingly.
